Hiker recovering after rescue
A hiker is in the hospital Sunday morning after falling on a hike in Thousand Palms.
Cal Fire said the hiker was rescued at Willis Palm Oasis in the area of Thousand Palms Canyon Road Saturday.
It happened just before 11 a.m.
More than dozen firefighters hiked to where the person needed help.
Once found the hiker was then taken by helicopter to a hospital with moderate injuries.
