Armed man robs business in Bermuda Dunes

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning in an unincorporated area of Bermuda Dunes.

Deputy Armando Munoz said deputies were called to the 40-100 block of Washington Street at about 4 a.m. after a Hispanic man apparently entered a business with a handgun and robbed the store.

The suspect ran off with the money and investigators with the Thermal Station continue to investigate the robbery.

Munoz wouldn’t say which business was targeted, but KESQ and CBS Local 2 viewers contacted our newsroom Wednesday morning to say Subway was completely blocked off, while the remainder of the Bermuda Dunes Plaza was still open to the public.

If anyone has information about the armed robbery, they’re asked to call Investigator Burgie with the Thermal Station at 760-863-8990.
