Eastbound I-10 open at Jefferson Street

UPDATE:Eastbound Interstate 10 is back open Friday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Eastbound Interstate 10 is closed overnight for construction at the new Jefferson Street interchange in Indio.

Motorists should avoid the area. Traffic is backed up past Washington Street as of 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
