Woman dies after driver crashes car into brick wall

Update: The female passenger involved in the crash died from her injuries at Desert Regional Medical Center Thursday night.

Two people are in serious condition Sunday after crashing their car into a brick wall in Palm Springs.

The crash happened at the intersection of North Indian Canyon Drive and East Via Escuela around 1:30 a.m.

When Palm Springs police got there they noticed the car had collided with a tree and the engine was on fire.

Police pulled the driver of the car out and away from the flames.

Once the Palm Springs Fire Department extinguished the flames, they were able to extricate the female passenger.

Both people were taken to a local hospital.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision and their investigation is underway.
