Palm Desert fire displaces three people

The American Red Cross is helping a family of three after their home was damaged by fire in Palm Desert.

The fire was reported around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 44-000 block of San Juan Avenue near Catalina Way.

The first arriving firefighters reported smoke coming from two corners of the home. The fire was contained to a bedroom.

Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours.

There are no reports of injuries and no word on a cause of the fire.
