Water leak slows down eastbound traffic on HWY 111

The Desert Water Agency is working to repair a significant water leak that has shut down two eastbound lanes of Highway 111 in Cathedral City. The leak is located at Perez Road.

Officials said traffic could be affected until about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, as the repairs are expected to take about five hours. Officials are investigating the cause of the leak.

If you’re driving eastbound on Highway 111, you may want to take an alternate route if you’re traveling through Cathedral City. at least until Thursday evening. If not, you might have to deal with delays.
