2 arrested in relation to armed robbery

A shoplifting incident turned into armed robbery when a man pulled a gun on a loss prevention officer in Moreno Valley.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a business on Sunnymead Boulevard around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, where they detained Michael Miller, 28, and Amanda Johnson, 29.

Both were suspected of shoplifting.

Johnson allegedly became physical with the loss prevention officers, while Miller retrieved a rifle from his vehicle and pointed it at them.

After both took off in a car, an investigation led officers to one of the suspects’ home about 45 minutes later.

The stolen merchandise was recovered there. Both Miller and Johnson were arrested for suspicion of armed robbery.
