Home shopping ‘GunTV’ to launch in Thousand Palms
A new firearms home shopping TV network is launching in Thousand Palms on April 1 at midnight. The timing of GunTV’s debut may be suspicious, as April Fool’s Day hoaxes begin to take center stage, but network officials said the locally-based program will be broadcast across the country.
The official announcement to launch the program came just before noon on Thursday.
GunTV is a television shopping network for firearms and related consumer goods that will initially air seven days a week from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. PST, but officials have plans to move the program to a 24/7 platform in the future.
The program is being shot in the old Palm Springs Film Factory building. Production is over for a bit, but officials are expected to reach out to News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 in the upcoming weeks to provide a closer look at GunTV.
“We are very excited to bring our new concept of shopping for firearms and accessories to live television. Our unique platform allows industry manufacturers to showcase products through our talented and experienced on-air hosts. Viewers will receive in-depth, entertaining product demonstrations, and see the products in action, an important component of the purchasing decision.” said Valerie Castle, Managing Partner of GunTV.
Company officials said GunTV was created by Social Responsibility Network LLC and GTV Live Shopping LLC.
According to the release, manufacturers will be featured with product demonstrations highlighted with three minutes of firearms safety public service announcements every hour. The network will also provide highly trained and knowledgeable customer experience representatives recruited from the veteran and former law enforcement community who will assist GunTV customers with making purchases over the phone and online.
“We understand that the more informed we are as consumers, the better purchasing decisions we make. At GunTV, safety is our number one priority,” Castle said. “All firearm orders are fulfilled by a Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer, and all firearm purchases through GunTV are subject to background checks.” she added.
The network will air across the country on a variety of cable networks and television stations. The new GunTV website is launching at the same time.
