Senator Stone to be honored by Crime Victims United

Republican Senator Jeff Stone has been named one of the ‘Legislators of the Year’ by Crime Victims United, according to a release issued by the senator’s office on Tuesday. Officials said the honor recognizes the senator’scontinued support of law enforcement and his tireless work to strengthen victims’ rights laws.

Crime Victims United was founded in 1990 with a mission to support and strengthen public safety, promote balance in the criminal justice system, and protect the rights of victims, according to the senator’s release.

Other honorees include Senator Steve Glazer and Assembly members Jim Cooper and Melissa Melendez.

“As a Temecula City Councilman, a Riverside County Supervisor and now as a State Senator, public safety has always been my top priority,” said Senator Stone. “It is such an honor to be recognized by Crime Victims United of California who has been at the forefront of these efforts across California for over a quarter of a century.”

Senator Stone will be recognized by the CVUC at the “March on the Capitol” rally on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., on the West Steps of the State Capitol.
