CHP finds homicide victim’s car & another female deceased

The California Highway Patrol found a car Monday morning belonging to a 78-year-old woman who was found dead Sunday night at a mobile home park in Banning. Homicide investigators were searching for the woman’s car and her granddaughter — both missing in the wake of the grim discovery.

But, CHP officers also found a deceased woman after searching the area near the victim’s car.

However, they haven’t said if it’s the homicide victim’s granddaughter. They do believe the female is possibly related to the case, according to a release from the Banning Police Department.

The CHP discovered the victim’s sedan near the intersection of Gilman Springs Road and Bold Style Avenue in Moreno Valley at about 9:45 a.m. Monday.

The 78-year-old woman, who hasn’t been identified yet, was found dead Sunday night at the Mountain Air Mobile Home Park in Banning. The mobile home park is located at 4133 W. Wilson Street.

Officers said they responded to the unattended death call at about 6:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim deceased with signs of trauma.

The case is being investigated as a homicide and the investigation is ongoing.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 is following the case closely and we’ll have new information as soon as it’s released.
