Vacant house fire ignites in Desert Hot Springs

Firefighters were called to a vacant house in Desert Hot Springs on Monday after a fire ignited shortly before 7 a.m.

The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the home in the 66000 block of Desert View Avenue. When the first engine arrived, flames were seen coming from the home. Firefighters had the blaze contained by about 7:15 a.m.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials said it caused an estimated $75,000 in damage.
