Redlands woman shot during police standoff with ex-boyfriend recovering with help from her friends
Kristin Bauer was taken hostage by her ex-boyfriend at an Office Depot in Redlands back on March 24th. After a three hour standoff the man was killed by police, but Kristen was also shot in the commotion.
Kristin’s friend and manager Shelley Marquis has led a community effort to help Kristin recover. Injuries to her shoulder, lung, liver and ribs are all healing, but Shelley points out that the mind and spirit might take a little longer.
“I think she’s been through a lot in her life. And I think she’s a fighter. That’s one thing that’s keeping her going,” says Marquis.
A major fundraising event will take place including five live bands, raffles, food trucks and fun for the kids including a balloon artist, ice cream and snow cones.
This community event takes place at Brew Rebellion in San Bernardino on Sunday May 1st from noon until 5 p.m. The address is 195 N. Del Rosa, San Bernardino, CA 92408 inside the property of the San Bernardino International Airport.
If you can’t go to the event, you can still support the effort by donating to her Go Fund Me Account at www.gofundme.com/helpkristinbauer.
