Stagecoach fans skip traffic to shop, dine in Palm Springs

To avoid the rush, some music fans stopped in Palm Springs to do a little shopping and dining, and wait until the traffic eases a bit.

Three weekends of festivals brought restaurants and shops downtown a lot of new customers, not so much during the concert days, but in the days after.

Mindy Reed, owner of Alicante restaurant and Zin American Bistro on Palm Canyon said Monday mornings after each music weekend have been very busy.

“To avoid the traffic, they’re all in town doing a little shopping and getting something to eat before they go,” said Reed.

“We don’t get out this way very often so we just decided to head over here and have lunch before we head off and walk around a little bit,” said festival attendee, Denise Padilla.

Reed said there is still a lot to look forward to with restaurant week next month and festival goers are already looking to saddle up for the festivals next year.
