Family Festival held in Desert Hot Springs Sunday
The Mission Outreach Project hosted a family festival at Guy J. Todesco Park in Desert Hot Springs Sunday afternoon.
Families in the area came together for live music and activities.
The local Boy Scout troop also volunteered and raised money for their membership costs and uniforms.
The event also had a dunk tank featuring the Mayor and the Chief of Police.
“We hand out hot meals, food, clothing and hygiene packets to (the) less fortunate, whether that be homeless or people just having a struggle,” David Fellman with the Mission Outreach Project said. “People who also eat with us could be senior citizens on a fixed income, or just someone who’s lonely and just wants to come hang out with people.”
Organizers said funds from Sunday will go toward the Mission Outreach Project and the local Boy and Girl Scout troops.
