‘Health 4 All’ tour stops in Coachella

Families gathered in Coachella to greet State Sen. Ricardo Lara during his Health 4 All enrollment tour Saturday.

The tour is aimed at educating and promoting the Medi Cal expansion starting Monday.

The expansion allows all low income, undocumented children and anyone under 19 years old to enroll in full scope Medi Cal.

Community leaders and other elected officials were there to show their support for the bill aimed at helping more than 200,000 children.

“We’re hours away from historic opportunities for all children in California and the diversity of our state calls for California to be progressive when it comes to providing health care to all Californians,” said Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia.

The full scope Medi Cal coverage includes free preventive services such as screenings and checkups.
