Bernie Sanders holds rallies across Southern California

Sen. Bernie Sanders continues his campaign for the Democratic Party presidential nomination with three rallies across the Southern California.

Sanders held rallies in Anaheim, Riverside and San Bernardino where he continued to rally supporters before the June 7 California primary.

Before the rally, KESQ and CBS Local 2’s Joe Galli had a one-on-one interview with the Democratic presidential hopeful. He believes he will not only beat former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in California but he is the better candidate to go against presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“We are feeling that we have a real opportunity to win the state.” said Sanders. “As you know, there are more delegates at stake here than any other state in the country. Our strategy is a real strong grassroots campaign. We are going to do dozens of rallies from one end of the state to the other.”

Sanders believes his campaign is starting a movement where more people will look for non-establishment candidates for federal, state, and local offices.

“I think there is a real frustration and people cannot accept the middle class continuing to decline and massive levels of wealth and income inequality. People are tired of establishment politics. They want a government that represents all of us, not just wealthy campaign contributors,” said Sanders.

Sander’s also commented on his recent trip to the Coachella Valley. Last week where he visited Palm Springs and stayed in Desert Hot Springs.

“My wife and I have been to Desert Hot Springs over the years and we love it as a place especially in the winter time when we get away from Vermont for a week. So it’s not a new place for us. It’s beautiful,” said Sanders.

Sanders will hold another rally in Cathedral City on Wednesday at Big League Dreams Sports Park at 10 a.m.
