Well in the Desert finds new home

Back in November, the Well in the Desert was evicted form their current location and now 7-months later they have a new home and couldn’t be more excited for the future

“I could cry but I won’t– having this building is going to be one of the biggest things that can happen in that community. It will help thousands of people a year.” President of the organization Arlene Rosenthal said.

The new location will take over the old child day care building located behind First Baptist Church with a fresh start for those that need it most.

“We met on the streets, Well of the Desert kept us alive so we can have this beautiful thing, the new building is just huge. We will be able to do showers again, clothes again, and be able to do all the services to make sure other people have the same opportunities that we did.” added Robyn Johnson, a former client now employee of the organization.

The transformation begins June 1st, a lot of hard work ahead but a dedicated team that will get the job done.

“We are a big family, we have our staff, we have our volunteers, people that are so generous and so gracious, they send checks, they come in and work so we are going to have a big crew. A lot of people have already offered their help.” added President Rosenthal.

The future is bright, new services, new hope and new opportunity.

“It’s regular people, people with feelings, people who matter, people who just need help and just need some services so they can get back on their feet and do what we are doing, have a functional and productive life.” finished Robyn Johnson

“It gives us wings to fly with.”
