All power restored to 1000 Palms

A power outage left more than 350 Imperial Irrigation District customers without electricity Monday morning in Thousand Palms.

The blackout was reported at about 8:45 a.m. by the utility, affecting the areas north of Interstate 10 and east of Varner Road.

Several business in the area were without power including Flying J, In N Out, McDonald’s, Del Taco, and several gas stations.

The outage also knocked out power to our studios in Thousand Palms for over an hour, causing KESQ-TV, CBS Local 2, KUNA-TV, KDFX-TV and our C.W. Station to go off the air. Our radio station La Poderosa 96.7 F.M. was also off the air for a short time.

The power was restored just before 10:00 a.m. IID officials did not disclose the cause of the outage.
