Firework crackdown begins across Southern California

Fourth of July is about a week away and that means fireworks stands are beginning to pop up around the Coachella Valley. Officials are cracking down on illegal fireworks being brought into the state.

They said people bringing in fireworks from out of state have been a big problem in past years. Illegal fireworks have been responsible for more than 2,000 structure and wildfires in the past five years.

Authorities in southern California have already seized tens of thousands of pounds of illegal fireworks.
