911 system back up for the Coachella Valley

UPDATE: According to the California Highway Patrol, as of approximately 7:50 p.m., the problem was corrected by Frontier and 911 calls are currently going through.

ORIGINAL STORY: 9-1-1 systems are down throughout the Coachella Valley, and from Whitewater to Blythe.

Right now, police say if you need to reach police you can contact the dispatch or main line, as the dispatch centers are still open.

The phone company, Frontier, is on scene working on the problem. We will update you as soon as the issue has been fixed.

In the meantime, the numbers for the different departments are below:

Cathedral City PD: 760-770-0300

Indio PD: 760-775-3730

Palm Springs PD: 760-327-1441

Desert Hot Springs: 760-329-2904

Riverside Sheriff: 760-836-3220 or for non-emergency, call 760-836-3215

Blythe PD: 760-922-6111

Riverside County Fire: (760) 347-2375 or go your local fire station
