Violent assault suspect accused of hurting teen arrested

Palm Springs Police say they have arrested a woman they believe assaulted a teenage girl, who suffered serious injuries during the attack.

According to Palm Springs Police, they got a call on the 9th of May, that an assault victim was at Desert Regional Medical Center. Officers made contact with the 15-year old victim and her family and learned that she was a victim of an assault that occurred in the Desert Highland Estates on May 5th.

The victim told police that she heard commotion outside of her home and went outside to investigate. She found out that her brother and sister who were playing in a nearby park were being confronted by other juveniles. One claimed to be hit by one of the other kids. The victim attempted to diffuse the situation when a vehicle pulled up with a few women inside. One woman became hostile with the victim claiming to be the mother of one of the children, and another woman also in the vehicle, identified as Bodaesha Bradley unexpectedly attacked the victim.

The investigation revealed that Bradley grabbed the victim by her hair and knocked her to the ground. While on the ground Bradley kicked the victim in the face several times. The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the attack that required surgery.

Bradley reportedly also threatened to shoot up the victim’s residence if she called the police. The entire family feared retaliation and decided not to report the incident initially. Police say the family has since relocated to a safe location.

Detectives finally located Bradley on June 23rd, in the 400 block of Calle Encilia and took her into custody without incident.

Bradley was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Indio and bail was set at 150-thousand dollars. She has since been released and is due back in court August 24th according to jail records.
