Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in Palm Springs

Palm Springs police are investigating a stabbing in the area of Stevens Road and Camino Monte Vista in Palm Springs.

According to police, a man suffered a minor stab wound and is being treated at Desert Regional Medical Center. The man was found in a courtyard of a complex near Stevens Road at about 9:30 a.m.

The victim told bystanders he had been stabbed in the back.

The suspect is still on the loose but officers said they do know the person’s identity. Officers believe the suspect and victim had been engaged in an ongoing argument over the past several days.

Police haven’t released any other information about the suspect.

Sgt. Hutchinson said, “The victim and suspect are known to each other. The victim suffered a minor stab wound and will survive. We are currently looking for the suspect. We are not releasing the name of the suspect at this time. We do know the victim and suspect have been arguing for several days which lead up to another confrontation today and the victim was stabbed. It occurred in an apartment complex but we are not releasing that location just yet because we do not want the suspect to flee.”

If you witnessed anything in the area Tuesday morning, you’re asked to call the Palm Springs Police Department.
