Palm Springs LGBT activist’s death determined to be natural causes

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has ruled that LGBT activist George Zander died of natural causes.

Zander was assaulted and underwent surgery from the attack after suffering a fractured hip. His husband Chris Zander suffered a concussion in the attack. The Coroner’s Office could not elaborate more over the phone but would only state that the cause was not caused by the attack.

The two men accused in the attack, Christopher Carr and Keith Terranova, are due back in court for trial on September 2nd. A spokesman for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office added that the case will continue as charged, meaning no additional charges will be filed.
