Shelters urge pet owners to check for pets lost during Blue Cut Fire
Pet owners impacted by the still burning Blue Cut Fire are being urged to check local shelters for their furry companions.
San Bernardino County Animal Care said they should check the three emergency shelters in Devore, Apple Valley and Victorville.
Animals evacuated may not be on the shelter’s website because of the different places they could have been taken. All stray animals taken to the Devore shelter are on the shelter’s website. Animals evacuated to county shelters by their owners will not be on the website since those animals are unavailable for adoption and the shelter knows who the owner on record is.
Animals may be delivered to a number of other animal shelters in the area. The city of Hesperia Animal Shelter, Victor Valley Animal Protective League or other shelters in the Central Valley may have received lost pets over the past week.
