Deputies remove 20 children and 25 dogs from uninhabitable living conditions

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies removed 20 children and 25 dogs from a Victorville home that they said was uninhabitable. The children ranged in age from 2 months to 17 years old.

Sheriff’s deputies said the home had no working electricity or natural gas and there wasn’t enough food for the people living there. They also said the dogs had no access to water and black mold covered a number of areas in the home.
Neighbors said there were always a lot of people around the home.

“You drive by here in the afternoon and there are just flocks of people,” said neighbor Cary Walker.

“They just regular people I thought because their kids out here playing basketball.. didn’t think nothing of it,” said neighbor Gonzalo Vizcarra.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies have arrested five women on suspicion of child cruelty. Two of the women were also suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
