LifeStream announces upcoming blood drives

Officials with LifeStream have announced four upcoming blood drives happening around the Coachella Valley in September.

Tuesday, September 13 at Animal Samaritans, located at 72120 Pet Land Place in Thousand Palms, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friday, September 16 Indio Middle School, located at 81195 Miles Avenue, from 1:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday, September 16 at Palm Springs Motors, located at 69200 HWY 111 in Cathedral City, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, September 18 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 42695 Washington Street in Palm Desert, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Officials listed the following information for those interested in donating blood:

Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. Fifteen and 16-year-olds must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center, community blood drive or at www.LStream.org. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process. Donating blood takes about an hour, yet gives someone a lifetime. For more information, please call 1-800-TRY GIVING.
