Restaurants hiring staff ahead of fall season
For some people, Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and the beginning of snowbirds returning to the Coachella Valley.
Some restaurants are looking to hire more help as the population of the valley slowly starts to balloon.
The cash is rolling in at The Broken Yolk in La Quinta. The business is doing so well it’s time to crack another egg. A Broken Yolk Cafe will be opening soon in Palm Springs where Chop House used to be. Now the restaurant is looking for fresh talent for the new location.
“I am looking for all positions from bussers, cooks, hostesses, servers, everything excluding management,” said Robert Pescador, the general manager of The Broken Yolk in La Quinta.
The Broken Yolk be holding a hiring fair on Tuesday and Wednesday. Interviews will begin on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. at 262 S Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.

Other restaurants in the desert are also looking for part-time help and should be hiring people in the coming weeks.
“We start looking in October and mid-September. That’s when we start getting a lot of part-time workers here,” said Jazmine Ortiz, a manager at Las Casuelas Quinta.
