Deputies release name of Yucca Valley homicide suspect
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department has arrested a man accused of murder after a man was stabbed and died at a Yucca Valley home on Wednesday.
Authorities have now identified the suspect as 40-year-old Carlos Herrera. He was arrested on Thursday, September 15th at 1:24 a.m. Deputies booked him into the Morongo Basin Jail on murder charges.
Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station were called to the 7600 block of Cibola Trail Wednesday morning at 7:37 a.m. They said a woman had called 911 saying her boyfriend had been stabbed and needed medical attention.
Deputies arrived along with medical personnel and found the victim with stab wounds. He died at the scene. Authorities later stopped the suspect’s vehicle and detained the driver.
Homicides detectives were set to interview him, but his name was not initially released, nor was the name of the man who died.
There was no motive provided by detectives for the altercation and no further information has been sent out yet. The investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
