Volunteers needed for Healing Field Veterans Day ceremony

Veterans Day is on Friday, November 11, and volunteers are needed at Patriot Park in Cathedral City to set up American flags for the 2016 Healing Field. Patriot Park is located at the corner of Dinah Shore Drive and Date Palm Drive, west of Cathedral City High School.

The 11th annual Healing Field is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cathedral City.

The Healing Field is a commemorative event to honor the men and women of the military that made the ultimate sacrifice since September 1, 2001. According to organizers, the opening ceremony takes place on Saturday, November 5 at 9 a.m.

The closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 12 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to set up the field, get flags in place, read names and take down flags after the ceremony. To volunteer, contact gillian@imahelps.org, 760-578-1282, or betsps@gmail.com, 760-902-6031.
