Broken pipeline floods north Indio roadways

Coachella Valley Water District crews were working to repair a broken Indio water main, which burst Monday morning.

Water flooded Jefferson Street near Avenue 38 near Shadow Hills High School and the Talavera development.

KESQ’s reporter Jeremy Chen said water covered most of the roadway and was impacting school traffic to Shadow Hills High School.

Chen said students and parents were being detoured around standing water. Workers told Chen a water pipeline may have burst.

No injuries were reported.
