‘Happy Pawlidayz’ Local animal shelter waives adoption fees

The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is urging people to ‘adopt not shop’. Monday, Nov. 28, marks the last day of the ‘no kill’ animal shelter’s bring ’em home for the ‘Pawlidayz’ campaign. Adoption fees have been waived all weekend long. The shelter says they have bunnies, dogs, and cats of all ages and sizes. “They all need homes, we have quite a bit of youngsters, kittens and also senior pets. The senior pets we really like to highlight because they would love to be in a home. We really need adoptions for everyone. As the only no-kill, municipal animal shelter, we are caring for over 500 pets at this time,” said Dr. Shayda Ahkami of The Palm Springs Animal Shelter. So far, 75 adoptions have been made. The ‘Happy Pawlidayz’ event was made possible by Zappos.com and Best Friends Animal Society.
