Motorcyclist identified in deadly Palm Springs crash

Officials with the Riverside County Coroner’s Office have identified the motorcyclist killed as 20-year-old Juan Cuevas-Jaime of Cathedral City.

One man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Palm Springs. The collision happened just after 5 Friday night at the intersection of Farrell Drive and Ramon Road.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, a Yamaha motorcycle and a Ford pickup truck collided in the intersection. The PSPD said the driver of the Ford, identified only as an adult male, remained on scene after the accident and is cooperating with police.
PSPD said the motorcyclist, also identified only as an adult male, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. His identity will be released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
Ramon Road will be closed to through traffic between Cerritos Road and Compadre Road. Farrell Drive will be closed between Baristo Road and Mesquite Avenue during the course of the investigation. Road closures are expected to remain in place for several hours.
