6.5 Magnitude Earthquake off NorCal coast

The United States Geological Survey reported a Magnitude 6.5 earthquake Thursday morning centered approximately 100 miles off the northern California coast in the Pacific Ocean.

The quake struck at 6:49 a.m.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said no warnings, advisories, watches, or threats had been issued due to the quake.

The USGS said the quake was off the coast, 95 miles west of Ferndale, also west of Arcata and Redding, at a depth of 7.5 miles.

There were no reports of any damage or injuries, but people took to the USGS website to report feeling light to weak shaking from as far north as Oregon down to Salinas, south of San Francisco.
