Coachella annual holiday parade hits the streets

Holiday spirit will once again light up the heart of Coachella.

The annual holiday parade will see floats and local youth bands ringing in Christmas cheer through the streets.

The parade, themed “A Musical Christmas,” will start at 6 p.m. Friday, taking off from Harrison and First streets, and finishing at Fourth Street and Vine Avenue, near the recently renovated Veterans Park.

Festivities will continue with a Best Musical Performance contest, and awards will be handed out.

Mayor Steven Hernandez will present the Mayor’s Trophy to the best parade entry. Entries will be judged by skillful incorporation of the parade’s theme, execution of the entry’s theme, originality of design, and spectator
appeal.

Awards will also be presented for Best Musical Unit and Best Local Entry.
