Police investigate shooting in Coachella

Police were looking for suspects that fired shots at a vehicle in Coachella Wednesday evening.

Deputy Armando Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said dispatchers received a call of a car to car shooting in progress at Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 54 just before 4:50 p.m.

Deputies arrived on scene and located the apparent victim’s car, while confirming that it was hit with bullets.

According to Munoz, nobody in the car at the time of the shooting was hit by gunfire.

As of 6:30 p.m. deputies were still on scene, trying to locate the suspect vehicle.
