Sheriff’s Department searching for Palm Desert robber

Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a suspect in a robbery that took place in Palm Desert on Friday night. Deputies said the robbery took place just after 9 p.m. Friday on the 72800 block of Highway 111 in Palm Desert.

Officials said the victim ad been walking to her car when she was approached from behind by a dark-colored SUV. As the vehicle drove past her, deputies said, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and drove away from the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as an adult female with long brown hair. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 760-836-1600.
