Coachella city manager set to retire

The Coachella City Council appointed Finance Director Bill Pattison to serve as acting city manager in preparation of the retirement of City Manager David Garcia.

Garcia, 62, has worked as Coachella’s city manager since June 10, 2010. Garcia informed city officials of his plans to retire in November. Garcia is set to retire Jan. 4th, according to city officials.

“Our city is blessed to have great staff, our council is resolute and we are in good shape to continue serving our residents well,” said Mayor Steven Hernandez. “We thank David for his service to the community and wish him well.”

The next Coachella City Council meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11.
