Police search for man & woman accused of carjacking

Indio police are searching for a man and woman accused of carjacking a victim Friday morning. Officers are looking for a blue-gray high-top Chevy van with an Idaho license plate of K477104.

Officers said the incident happened at Miles Avenue and Rubideaux Street at 11:17 a.m. The suspect was described as Hispanic, 5’7″, with a dark complexion, thin build, and multiple tattoos on his right arm and possibly on his face.

He was armed with a knife and had a woman with him who helped with the car theft. Officers said the woman reportedly drove away in a blue-gray high-top Chevy van with Idaho plates. The man was also in the car when she drove away.

The Indio Police Department is working to release more information about the license plate and suspect descriptions. Officer said to call 911 if you see the suspects.
