Desert Hot Springs man found guilty of multiple felonies
It’s a guilty verdict for a Desert Hot Springs man who was on trial for kidnapping his wife and beating her for days.
A jury deliberated for about three hours before reaching guilty verdicts for 49-year-old Marshall Eddie Jones, on multiple felonies, including assault with a deadly weapon. Jones was on trial for holding his wife against her will in January and beating her with a pistol, a wooden stick and a belt. She suffered broken legs and partial loss of sight. Jones was arrested and released.
Authorities said his wife was hospitalized again later that month after another assault. He’s set to be sentenced Jan. 17.
