Bridge work closes eastbound Interstate 10

A traffic alert for you Monday morning on Interstate 10 Indio.

Traffic was being detoured off the freeway the eastbound lanes at the Jefferson Street construction project early Monday morning.

Traffic was slowing through the area because of detours as crews removed scaffolding from the newly-built interchange bridge.

Westbound traffic was not impacted, but motorists who were getting on the freeway from Indio Boulevard and Jefferson Street were also facing detours and being slowed down.

The overnight work was set to be completed by 6:00 a.m..
