Gas leak leaves hundreds without heater, hot water

On Dec. 16, SoCalGas received a call from a customer reporting a gas leak at Date Palm Country Club in Cathedral City.

SoCalGas crews went to the mobile home park where the customer lives to investigate, and found a leak in a corroded service line behind a master meter.

The mobile home park management requested gas be shut off in order to make necessary repairs in the service line. Gas was shut off for more than 200 people living in the neighborhood by 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Early Sunday, SoCalGas crews received a call from the mobile home park manager, requesting service be turned back on.

SoCalGas crews are currently at the mobile home park working to restore service.
