4 injured, including kids in accident on I-10

An SUV rolled over on the Eastbound I-10 near the Monroe exit, causing four injuries, including three children.

A CAL Fire representative told KESQ News Channel 3 / CBS Local 2 that four people are injured including three children under the age of seven. The driver and two of the children suffered moderate injuries, one child suffered major injuries. They were transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.

CHP says that the children were not restrained in booster seats, but there were booster seats in the car. The driver’s license was also suspended.

According to the CHP, the silver SUV drove to far to the to the right, onto the dirt shoulder. The SUV lost control and overturned, one traffic lane was closed for 45 minutes but all lanes are once again open.

They say the SUV was on it’s way to Arizona for Christmas.

The accident is still under investigation but authorities don’t believe drugs or alcohol are a factor in the accident.
