DHS Police arrest three for murder

Update, 11:35 p.m.:

Desert Hot Springs police now say the suspicious death of a man found dumped in a field in a residential area Tuesday morning was a homicide.

Three of four people detained earlier in the day are now under arrest on suspicion of murder and accessory to murder. They lived at the home near where the body was discovered.

Police are recommending murder charges for Anthony Garza, 26, of Desert Hot Springs, and accessory to murder charges for Candelaria DeSantiago, 31, and her brother Alejandro DeSantiago, 39. The three suspects were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Banning.

The identity of the man killed has not been released.

This marks the second murder in Desert Hot Springs this month, and the fifth of the year.

DHS Police are on scene investigating a suspicious death on the 13900 block of Via Real.

DHS police got the call just before 10:30 a.m. A teenager was outside playing when he discovered a body in a near a home in the vicinity. Police later confirmed the body was of a Hispanic male.

Police Chief Dale Mondary said the death did not appear to be natural, but investigators have also not confirmed whether the man was a homicide victim.

No arrest have been made, 4 people have been detained for questioning..
