Living Desert extending hours

For the next two weeks. the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will be extending their hours.

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will offer special, extended hours now through Friday, January 6 . The zoo will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the last admission at 6 p.m.

During the extended hours, Guest will be able to see numerous animals from Africa, including warthogs, zebras, cheetahs, addax, camels, ect. The G-scale garden railroad, activities in the Discovery Center, camel and carousel rides will also be open and available for guests to experience. Two special after-hours keeper chats will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on a rotating schedule posted nightly. In addition, all of the park’s holiday lights will be on display and the cafe and gift shop also will also be open.

“Extending our hours during the holiday season allows for families to enjoy sunset at the park and gives them a few more hours to take in much of what The Living Desert has to offer,” said Allen Monroe, President/CEO of The Living Desert. “And, it also offers our guests another way to see our light displays and continue to share in the holiday spirit.”

For those wishing to attend just the extended hours, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., admission fee is reduced to $6 for members and $8 for non-members. The reduced admission rate begins at 5 p.m. For more information about The Living Desert visit livingdesert.org
