Missing woman found dead in Yucca Valley

A Yucca Valley woman who had been reported missing was found dead Monday afternoon.

89-year old Dorothy O’Brien was found dead Monday evening near the 56000 block of Little League Drive, in Yucca Valley, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. The initial investigation showed O’Brien was exposed to extremely cold temperatures, but there was no foul play suspected.

O’Brien had been reported missing by family members since Friday. According to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station, O’Brien was suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Division is assisting in the investigation, and an autopsy will be conducted, at a later date, to determine cause of death.
