UPDATE: Palm Desert Christmas shooting victim dead
UPDATE:12-27 1:30 p.m.
After the sounds of gunfire rang out in a Palm Desert neighborhood on Christmas, police officers arrived to a local home to find a man with fatal injuries, police report.
The man succumbed to his injuries and died in a local hospital.
The suspect remains at large.
According to sheriff’s Sgt. Raymond Huskey, the incident was reported at 4 p.m. Sunday in the 43400 block of Illinois Avenue.
“Deputies arrived and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound,”Huskey said. “The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.”
Details surrounding the case are limited at this time, but the sergeant said the death is being investigated as a murder.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting in a Palm Desert neighborhood that sent one man to the hospital.
It was reported around 4 p.m. Sunday.
First responders said the man suffered a gunshot wound, and was taken to a local hospital.
His condition is unknown at this time.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies set up an active crime scene investigation in a Palm Desert neighborhood Sunday.
Deputies have set up a perimeter around a home on the 43-400 block of Illinois Avenue, near the Palm Desert Country Club.
Deputies haven’t confirmed yet what the situation is.
