Indio police search for carjacking suspect
The Indio Police Department is searching for a 31-year-old man accused of carjacking a victim on December 16. Officers said they saw a man matching Derrick Wilson’s description at Spotlight 29 Casino in Twentynine Palms at about 3:45 p.m. Monday, but the suspect ran away and deputies were unable to locate him.
While it’s still unclear if it was in fact the suspect involved in the carjacking, deputies said the man they saw at the casino ran away when the sheriff’s department arrived. Deputies were searching for him near Love’s Truck Stop near the casino.
KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will deliver updates as the search for the suspect continues.
Wilson is suspected of robbing the victim in Indio. He had a female accomplice with him at the time; she’s already been arrested, according to Sgt. Dan Marshall. Police haven’t released the woman’s identity yet.
