Big rig driver burned after truck catches fire on I-10

Cal Fire treated a big rig driver for minor burns Tuesday afternoon when his truck became engulfed in flames on the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Gene Autry Trail.

Firefighters arrived to the truck fire just before 1 p.m. They doused the flames quickly and the driver was treated at the scene. There was a significant diesel fuel spill, prompting a Hazmat team to clean the area.

Officers had to shut down the off-ramp to traffic while the Hazmat team was responding. They reopened the off-ramp at 2 p.m.
