Palm Desert man accused of snatching woman’s purse
A 22-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on suspicion of robbing a woman’s purse Wednesday morning.
The victim was exiting her vehicle when the suspect, identified as Terence Paul Babauta, allegedly grabbed her purse off her arm at about 7:44 a.m.The supect left the scene in a newer gray vehicle, officers said in a news release.
La Quinta police located a suspect and vehicle matching the description at a gas station on Highway 111 and Portola Avenue in Palm Desert following the robbery. Barbauta was the only one inside the vehicle, and officers said they found property belonging to the victim inside the vehicle as well.
Barbauta was arrested for robbery and was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
