Rain shuts down Cathedral Canyon Drive at wash

Police have closed Cathedral Canyon Drive at the Whitewater Wash due to flooding. Meanwhile, all other roads around Palm Springs remain open despite the consistent rainfall.

Rainfall has been hitting the Coachella Valley consistently throughout the day Friday. All roads around Palm Springs were open for much of the day, but authorities said they closed Cathedral Canyon Drive in Cathedral City just after 12 p.m.

You should take an alternate route, such as Date Palm Drive, if you’re driving in the area Friday afternoon. All other roads remain open in Palm Springs at this time.
